About Erik Church - President of EF
As president of EF Educational Tours Canada, Erik Church oversees all sales and marketing operations in Canada. Though EF is already the largest student tour operator in Canada, Erik’s goal is to continue to offer value through reasonably priced, high-quality tours and to grow EF in both the English and French markets.
Erik takes the company’s role as an educational organization very seriously and travels on many EF tours to ensure they provide the best possible experience for Canadian teachers and the students they travel with. He will travel on the Victory in Europe tour in May 2010 and recently returned from Kenya, where he worked with the charity Free The Children to design unique volunteer travel adventures for young Canadians called EF Voluntours.
He loves spending any free time he has in the great outdoors and particularly enjoys canoeing and fly-fishing. Erik has motorcycled across Africa, is heading to the Arctic Circle in 2011 and plans to motorcycle across the Gobi Desert in 2012.
Erik became president of EF Educational Tours Canada in 2007 and he’s worked with the company for eight years in a variety of roles. He was President of EF Explore America, Executive Vice President, Marketing and President of EF College Break. Before joining EF, Erik was Senior Vice President at EONS, Senior Vice President for Student Online Solutions, Executive Vice President for Plum and leadership consultant for Acacia Educational Foundation.
He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife Paige, and their daughter, Elizabeth.
